Prior to Mr Burwell's present employment at Bellah & Harrian, he was an associate at the Phoenix office of Goldberg, Fancher & Jones, and practiced exclusively in the area of family law and successfully defended an appeal to the Arizona Court of Appeals and Arizona Supreme Court in a highly contested case which went to trial for three days in June, 1997. Before that Patrick was an associate attorney with the law firm of Lee, Stegall & Katz and was with the firm for over six years. His practice area at Lee, Stegall & Katz was concentrated in domestic relations and civil litigation with substantial involvement in fraudulent transfer litigation.
Patrick has tried a number of multi-day domestic relations' trials an litigated custody and support issues in numerous order to show cause hearings, including multi-day post-decree custody disputes.
Patrick completed extensive mediation training and has mediated several domestic relations matters, and represented several clients in mediation and arbitration proceedings. Patrick participated as a volunteer at the Maricopa County Family Lawyers' Assistance Project and was named Volunteer Lawyer of the Month in August, 1998 by the Maricopa Lawyer.
Mr. Burwell is licensed to practice before state and federal courts in Arizona.
